I have spent my career moving between hands-on technical delivery and board-level strategy. That range is what I bring to every organisation I work with, whether as a full-time technology leader, a fractional CTO navigating a critical programme, or an independent adviser to your board.
Some organisations need permanent senior technology leadership. Others need the right expertise for a specific decision, a transformation that needs steadying, or an ongoing advisory relationship. I work across all of these. What stays constant is the quality of thinking, the commercial discipline, and the ability to translate complex technology into language that boards, investors, and leadership teams can act on.
If you are looking for a technology leader who can operate at every level, from server room to boardroom, let's talk.
Fractional CTO
Embedded Technology Leadership
Your organisation has outgrown its current technology capability but cannot yet justify, or does not want, a full-time CTO.
I embed into your leadership team and own real outcomes. Strategy, governance, vendor management, team direction, board reporting: the full scope of a technology executive, structured around what your organisation actually needs. Not a report that gets handed over. Accountable leadership that stays.
You are planning a transformation, or already in one that is not delivering what was promised.
I have led transformation programmes at enterprise scale across financial services and regulated environments. I know what separates the ones that succeed from the ones that consume budgets and goodwill without delivering lasting change. I bring strategic clarity, commercial discipline, and the experience to make difficult decisions early, before they become expensive ones later.

Architecture
Architecture and Rationalisation
Your technology estate has grown faster than it has been governed. It is costing more than it should, and constraining more than it enables.
Good architecture is invisible. It enables growth, absorbs change, and never becomes the bottleneck. I assess your current estate with commercial honesty, identify where value is being lost, and design the foundations that support what the business needs to do next. The principle is simple: maximise what you have before you spend on anything new.

Security & Governance
Security, Governance and Resilience
Your organisation holds certifications but still feels exposed. Or your board is asking questions about technology risk that nobody is answering with confidence.
Compliance is a baseline, not a destination. I work with organisations to build genuine security cultures, establish governance frameworks that stand up to regulatory scrutiny, and ensure that when something goes wrong, and at some point something will, the organisation is ready to respond decisively and recover completely.

AI Readiness for Smaller Organisations
You keep hearing about AI but you are not sure whether it is relevant to a business your size, or where to start without wasting time and money.
AI is changing how small businesses operate. Whether it is relevant to yours is a different question entirely. I offer a free 45-minute AI Clarity Session for businesses in Jersey with under 10 people. No pitch. No agenda. Just an honest conversation built around your business, not a generic presentation. Ten places available.
Few technology leaders have made the full journey. I started as a field engineer, hands-on with networking, infrastructure, and enterprise platforms. That technical foundation proved invaluable as I progressed through solutions architecture into enterprise architecture leadership at one of South Africa's largest financial services organisations.
A transfer opportunity brought me to London, where I took responsibility for full UK technology operations. Following a brief return to South Africa, I was appointed Executive Director on the board of the organisation's Jersey office in 2017, combining technology leadership with board-level governance in a regulated offshore financial environment.
That breadth shapes everything I do. I have led digital transformations, built geographically distributed teams, implemented cyber security governance frameworks, delivered cloud strategies, and navigated complex regulatory environments. Always with one focus: making technology serve the business, not the other way around.
Today I work with organisations that need that rare combination: someone who can operate in the boardroom and still roll up their sleeves in the server room. The rise of AI and automation has created extraordinary opportunities for businesses willing to move decisively. I help them do exactly that.
