From the server room to the boardroom

Few technology leaders have made the full journey. I started as a field engineer, hands-on with networking, infrastructure, and enterprise platforms. That technical foundation proved invaluable as I progressed through solutions architecture into enterprise architecture leadership at one of South Africa's largest financial services organisations.

A transfer opportunity brought me to London, where I took responsibility for full UK technology operations. Following a brief return to South Africa, I was appointed Executive Director on the board of the organisation's Jersey office in 2017, combining technology leadership with board-level governance in a regulated offshore financial environment.

That breadth shapes everything I do. I have led digital transformations, built geographically distributed teams, implemented cyber security governance frameworks, delivered cloud strategies, and navigated complex regulatory environments. Always with one focus: making technology serve the business, not the other way around.

Today I work with organisations that need that rare combination: someone who can operate in the boardroom and still roll up their sleeves in the server room.
